Baxter & Woodman appoints new head of business development

CRYSTAL LAKE — Baxter & Woodman Inc. Consulting Engineers has promoted Carolyn A. Grieves to vice president of business development.

In this new role, Grieves will direct the business development efforts throughout all regions of the growing firm, including the Midwest, Florida and Texas. She will be based out of the firm’s Crystal Lake office.

Grieves is a licensed professional engineer and has held several leadership roles throughout her 25-year tenure with the firm, including water/pretreatment services manager and Illinois regional manager. She currently serves as president of the firm’s 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, B&W CARES, and chair of the firm’s Young Professional’s Group.

In addition to her firm responsibilities, Grieves’ extensive water industry involvement includes roles within the American Water Works Association — Illinois Section, as chair, board of directors; and Safety and Emergency Management Committee, Water Efficiency Committee, Water for People Committee, Veterans Committee, Public Perception Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is also a member of the American Public Works Association Asset Management Committee.
