Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is an award winning, independent, family-owned craft brewery located in Elmsford, New York. We’re known for our IPAs, both hazy and non-hazy, as well as a wide variety of other beer styles. We’ve been in business for over 16 years and are looking for a sales representative to be the face of our brand in an assigned geography that will primarily cover Brooklyn. The main objective of this position is to manage Captain Lawrence sales in Brooklyn for one of the largest wholesalers in the country.

    Candidate must:

  • Live in Brooklyn
  • Have a passion for craft beer
  • Enjoy proactively selling craft beer
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be a problem solver
  • Represent CLBC in the retail trade as the first point of contact from the brewery
  • Remain positive and professional when working with wholesalers, accounts, and with all Captain Lawrence employees
  • Be able to work independently with little supervision while hitting sales objectives and tasks; including increasing volume and revenue within territory
  • Be able to call on existing On & Off Premise accounts, open new accounts, and solicit reorders from past accounts
  • Be able to build and strengthen productive and mutually beneficial relationships with all levels of wholesale partners and key accounts
  • Be comfortable scheduling and conducting On & Off Premise samplings within stores, bars, and restaurants
  • Work out of market crew drives if needed
  • Be able to negotiate and overcome objections from customers
  • Be able to keep accurate records of account visits and placements by using a simple mobile app
  • Have a computer
  • Be comfortable working with, or learning, basic skills with Microsoft Excel, VIP, simple mobile apps
  • Be able to remain within assigned budget
  • Be able to monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to Captain Lawrence management
  • Have clean driving record
  • Have personal vehicle

    Ideal Candidate will also:

  • Be driven to succeed
  • Have existing relationships with accounts and/or wholesale partners
  • Have 2 years of experience working for a brewery or distributor
  •  

    This position reports directly to the Division Sales Manager while maintaining an open working relationship with all levels of the CLBC Team.

    Salary range $65,000, to $75,000; commensurate with experience.
